Hi all, I'm new here...

May I ask if anybody can suggest me books, articles or sites about ammonites and their classifications ? I like searching fossils, and I found a few ammonites, but it's a hobby for me, not a job, so that I need a help in classifying them...

Thanks for any answer,

Gabriel Windman

There really is no single book that I would reccomend for ammonite classification.

The book(s) and publications that you would find useful are really going to depend on where you are collecting, and the age of the rock you are collecting in.

For a general starting reference, I would reccomend parts 'L' and 'K' of the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology... You might find R. C. Moore's 'Invertebrate Fossils' to be useful (It's old but still very useful).

Beyond that, you really need to find literature that is specific to the geologic time frame and locality that you are interested in.
