Not my usual carpentry style, but a good carpenter can adapt. I decided to remove the clay hot dog jspencer, and put in a new hotdog in that old bun.

OOPS, I forgot one, I have 4 bandsaws. It takes a fool to know a tool. I have to stop looking at rocks.

I showed this, first without the handle, then with the handle, to about 30 people. Without the handle about 50% said it was a strange shaped rock and 50% said it seems to be wierd and were trying to figure it out. I then slipped the handle on and 100% said it was an old indian hammer. When I asked what they saw in it prehandle, only 3 of thirty saw a carving. Just adding the handle and asking if they see anything, at least 10 people saw a animal shape, and when pointing it out, only one person couldn't see a shape, but that person said they could see it but their actions did not convince me that she could see it as the others did in the same place. The local fossil shop worker said it definitely felt like indian stone, but didn't think it was carved or the hole was manmade. He saw it as it appears in my first pictures, and I guess it could be missed. I will have to bring it back with my crude handle. The biggest disagreement in the rock in the end was the content of the carving. Many salamander, many dog, few fish, rabbit, and lots just said animal of some kind. I hope it wasn't supposed to be a skull, it's too cute for that. The people who had the hardest time recognizing it in my opinion were the most inteligent. The rock shop guy said the band would have been too weak. I feel It could have still been used for knocking fish, rabbits, or just an ornamental item that was used for rituals. I don't know how old this one is, it may only be 200 years old or possibly 2000 years old. This one I cannot track the depth because it was thrown out while backfilling around the house. I'm studying people again, how depressing. Rocks are more predictable.

I can't help but to notice the similarities in the hole of the rock to some soup bones I have had. Take out the marrow and carve the bone chunk. It's rock now, and I think it may have been rock when they worked on it. It has some signs of modification to the hole, but the majority of it is very smooth and shaped different than if a man had designed it. I think it's made from a fossilized large bone, or it was bone when they made it and it fossilized later. There is much evidence on the internet of fast fossilization.
