Referring to the relation between birds and dinosaurs: If we get a new extinction and the only mammals who survive is the bats, who will in 65 million years believe, that the bats is related to blue whales, humans, elefants etc.? Geffe, Denmark

Very funny. No of course we wouldn't guess that. At best after long intense and hot-tempered discussions - just like now (birds/dinosaurs).

Obviously, not Cal King, who, reincarnated as whatever intelligent life form graces our planet 65 myfn, will insist that the similarities between bats and mammals are the result of convergent evolution and that they really originated from earlier synapsids.
