Description: The Great Blue Hole is a large underwater sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of lighthouse reef, a small atoll 62mi. from the mainland and Belize city. The hole is circular in shape, over 984 ft. across and 410 ft. deep. It was formed as a limestone cave system during the last glacial period.

    I found this picture on the net, but I do most of my exploring in google earth. There I can dive the oceans and never get my feet wet.I check out all the meteor craters and dinosaur sights. The blue hole was made famous by Jacques Cousteau as one of the 4th greatest dive sights on Earth. It's teaming with fish,sharks,turtles,caves you name it, it's got it. Very Happy
