Alright, I’ve finished my classification and data sheet for my fossils, so here it is:
1. Fossil fish, species unknown, possibly Knightia eoceana
Age: Unknown
Location: Green River Formation, Wyoming
Length: 6 cm
Description: Three fish and a fish head are in the rock. Rib cage clearly visible in one, unclear in others. All back vertebrae on all fish are clearly visible. Pectoral fins visible in all except the head. The head could actually be the broken head of one of the fish.
2. Trilobite
Age: Cambrian Period
Location: Wheeler Shale, Utah
Length: 2 cm
Description: Beautiful specimen. Back of trilobite somewhat faded. Everything appears very visible other than the back. Small specimen.
3. Trilobite, species Asaphiscus wheeleri
Age: Cambrian Period
Location: Wheeler Shale, Utah
Length: 3.1 cm
Description: Medium-sized trilobite. Small chunk broken off, slightly to the upper left corner of the fossil. Everything appears visible, although the fossil is cracked in a couple places.
4. Bivalve impression
Location: Utah
Length: 0.5 cm
Description: Just an impression.
5. Shark tooth, species unknown
Age: 40 million years
Location: Southwestern Montana
Length: 1.6 cm
Description: Beautiful shark tooth specimen. No apparent damage to fossil. Still sharp.
6. Velociraptor toe claw (replica)
Age: 75 MYA
Location: Mongolia
Length: 3.1 cm
Description: Replica
7. Fern
Age: Carboniferous
Location: Utah
Length: 3.6 cm
Description: Good specimen, no damage to actual fossil. Leaf impressions very evident. Four, possibly five total leaves.
8. Coprolite
Age: Unknown
Location: Arizona
Length: 4.2 cm
Description: Interesting specimen. Slight crack in the bottom. Possible bone fragment in the specimen.
9. Leaf
Age: Unknown
Location: Utah
Length: 4.8 cm
Description: Two leaves in the rock. Veins clearly visible. Right side of large leaf slightly faded. Both leaves appear to be in good condition.
10. Fossil footprint
Age: Unknown
Location: Arizona
Length: 3.2 cm
Description: Only bottom half is present; specimen in question may just be a pseudofossil.
11. Titanosaurus eggshell
Age: Upper Cretaceous, 70 MYA
Location: Argentina
Length: 0.7 cm
Description: Fragment of Titanosaurus egg. Good condition. Pattern on the egg is clearly visible. No scratches or marks.
12. Spinosaurus tooth, S. aegyptiacus
Age: 70 MYA
Location: Morocco, Africa
Length: 4 cm
Description: Large adult tooth of Spinosaurus. A couple scratches and a couple marks. Splitting of tooth reveals possible fossilized enamel and a possible blood stain.
These are all of my fossils. As time progresses, however, I shall add to my collection
