I saw a report on Teletext suggesting an alternative theory for the extinction of the dinosaurs. Suggested that the plant eaters ate so much foliage that they broke wind continuously. The result was damage to the ozone layer from the quantity of methane produced. Maybe global warming too, the report wasn't clear on that.

I'm sure I've heard this theory before, is there any truth in it, to the extent that we'll ever know what really happened, that is...

I could swear I've heard it too, years ago. Something close to it, at least. It seemed goofy then, and it seems goofy now. Of course, if the dinos ate baked beans, that would make it entirely credible. Maybe legumes had just evolved, and the fireball from the comet cooked them right in the pods, and the dinos came along and gobbled 'em up just like the cowpokes in Blazing Saddles. Yessiree, that's a recipe for disaster, alright. Ugh! The horror, the horror!

I think the dinosaurs all died by removing their own genatalia and drinking sorrosive kool-aid when the sacred comet came.
