My sister found me a small sharp brown bone on the missouri banks of the mississipi river.

Turtle shell? hmmmmm..... I dont see it. My friend don said its a pecarry bone or some type of pig. It almost looks like a pork bone. But its not its fossilized!

its hard to tell, the camera is focusing on your hand. Can you take some pictures of it on table with something like a plain white sheet or something behind it so the item gets focused on?

I dont think its a turtle I looked up fossil turtle bones and theres nothing like it. And I will tomorrow when the sun is up so I have more light okay

maybe part of a vertebrae? on ours we have the bone coming off the sides for muscle attachment?

hey, I think Dazza is onto something. I've been peeking back on this and Daz spurred thought.. a little look on images.google.com for Deer Vertebrae and I found this:

Thanks Darren and Colin! I think its a vertebray cut in half! Its got the parts and every thing but only half of it is there
