If you’re following paleontology’s research of the fossils of ancient Wombats you may know that fossils of Wombats were found in various sizes. The variation between giants fossils as appear on the above photo and fossils of much moderate size has led researchers to believe that there were at least two different species of Wombats.
A surprising discovery based on teeth comparison leads to the conclusion that there was only one Wombat specie and that the vast difference in size are explained as gender difference.
The rational of examining the teeth separately is that males and females in nature may have different sizes and different structure but they usually eat similar food so for the females and males both the teeth should be the same.
The findings of price that conducted the research on more than thousand ancient wombat teeth held in museums around the world were that there was only one specie of giant wombats.

Now just imagine what the female must have felt like next to such a big guy.

Hi I think I may have stumbled across either a giant kangaroo or a giant wombat.
What was sited was a jaw and teeth.
The teeth were intact but fell out apon touching. Size was 10-12cm in length and about 5cm.
There was another part maybe the lower section of jaw.. Is there any pictures of teeth of these past mammals of days gone by.
If there are please email.
