It's getting to be time to bury my rocks. Winter is only a month and a half away now, and I can't have holes in the yard. I'll repack them in that stinky. slimey red clay that exists here and they should be fine for somebody to rediscover someday. That stuff will preserve anything.

I know Tyler, everything here is packed in that red clay. That may be why I have these wierd rocks that are preserved. Even seeds can be preserved with Red clay for a long time. I don't know what that strange smell on the rocks is though, or I'de take them in the house. They stink and there hasn't been anything built here before to contaminate the soil. Maybe it has something to do with that deep hole where water used to come out of the ground next door. Maybe there were some chemicals that at one time came out of the earth or something strange. I am not an expert or even an experienced novice at this type of earth science, I only know what I see and feel. Maybe if I bury the Dino heads in a few years they will decay to skulls that will be worth something.

i don't rmember who told me this but they said if there is a smell on a rock/fossil you want to keep you can soak them in bleach. i think this will disolve them though. ask someone on this site other than me.

I would probably need a 50 galon drum of bleach. I tried hydrogen peroxide, but the smell returns after a little while anyway. Maybe boiling the rocks might work.

Whoa! Whoa! Back Up!!! Ricky, what's going on? Why are you going to rebury your rocks? If you want somebody to "re-discover" them someday, then they should have been left in the ground! :?

Found this and lots of small stones like the flint and red quartz or something like it while digging potatoes. It's small and it looks like a pattern. I think it's gold, gold color anyway. There used to be a gold mine about 10 miles away. I think the indians might have brought it here. I found 2 what looks like arrow heads also, but they are made out of the same rock that my lightning stone are made of. They kinda look like canine teeth. There's lots of those but they all seem to have been broken for some reason.

Well, I decided to dig some of it out of there, it's soft, it's metal, and it's gold. Now all I have to do is find another 500 pcs. like that and I can buy a new computer. haha!
