Description: These are the tracks left behind from the boring sponges I posted pics of recently leaving a flower like pattern. They may however be a medusae or hydrozoan. I`m still studying the possibilities. The Kirklandia texana is a common hydrozoan jellyfish which I believe this is.

    Thanks Rickymouse it is an interesting look. This pic is a micro shot with each of those dips being about 3/16 inch. If you look carefully you can find what appears to be a sunflower pattern with a small dot in the center of them. These apparently were on top and didn`t get overlapped when they built thier colony. And as can be seen in lower part of pic in places, the spokes that radiate from the center are divided into cells giving a spiderweb look. They would attach themselves to whatever they could and bore into it`s exoskeleton and then colonize.
